Hosted by the Indonesian Ministry of National Development Planning (BAPPENAS) in November 2014, the Data Innovation for Policy Makers conference in Bali focused on how data can be used to provide better services for the public. In collaboration with Pulse Lab Jakarta, the Knowledge Sector Initiative (KSI) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Innovation Facility, the conference responded to recommendations made by the Independent Expert Advisory Group on the Data Revolution for Sustainable Development, which was set up by the United Nations Secretary-General in August 2014 to provide concrete ways of improving data collection and analysis for sustainable development. This report presents a summary of the discussions and recommendations that came out of the conference.
