Global Preparatory Seminar for the United Nations World Data Forum

(Guilin, China) The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) of China and the Statistics Division of the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA/UNSD) will jointly organize a Global Preparatory Seminar for the United Nations World Data Forum in Guilin, China, from 7-9 September.
The Global Preparatory seminar, staged ahead of the UN World Data Forum (16-18 January 2017) will provide countries with an opportunity to prepare their participation and contributions for the Forum. It will serve as a platform for participants representing a wide range of stakeholders to discuss opportunities and challenges faced in the production and utilization of data for the follow-up and review of Sustainable Development Goals and targets.
Global Pulse will be speaking as panelist during Panel 3: Data for all parts of society. The panel will address issues on bridging the gap between new sources of data and official statistics, as well as the latest information innovations, including issues of privacy and data protection, participation, data disaggregation and inclusive data collection, transparency and accountability.
