Two Way Talk: How Radio Content Can Support The Monitoring and Achievement Of The Global Goals

15 April, 2016

(Kampala, Uganda) Pulse Lab Kampala will host an interactive workshop on 15 April 2016 to present one of its latest innovative tools for analysing radio content from public radio broadcasts. In Uganda, especially in rural areas, radio serves as a far-reaching platform for public discussion, information sharing and news. For the first time, the content of public radio broadcasts in Ugandan English, Luganda and Acholi can be analyzed using speech-to-text technology. The new capability afforded by this tool can support policymakers in understanding, in real-time, Ugandan citizens’ priorities, as voiced publicly on the radio. Participants are welcome to provide feedback on how the tool can be enhanced and in what ways it can be used to monitor and help achieve the Sustainable Development Goals. (Attendance by invitation only)
