UN World Data Forum 2018

(Dubai, United Arab Emirates) The 2018 UN World Data Forum will take place 22nd-24th October in Dubai. The Programme of the UN World Data Forum is organized around six main thematic areas covering a wide range of topics:

  • TA1: New approaches to capacity development for better data
  • TA 2: Innovations and synergies across data ecosystems
  • TA 3: Leaving no one behind
  • TA4: Understanding the world through data
  • TA5: Building trust in data and statistics
  • TA6: How far have we come?

UN Global Pulse, who is also a member of the Programme Committee, will organize a number of high-level and practical sessions around data innovation for social good. Specifically, the network of Pulse Labs will host sessions to discuss opportunities for scaling big data, AI and other emerging technologies for the SDGs, to identify current challenges, and to propose solutions.
