Future on a plate: tech & the end of hunger
(New York, USA) The World Food Programme, UN Global Pulse and the Global Partnership for Sustainable Development Data are hosting an interactive exhibit at the U.N. General Assembly showcasing how new sources of data and technologies are improving humanitarian aid.
The exhibit will be open from 24 to 28 September in the 46th Street entrance foyer to all visitors coming to the UN.
The exhibit will use virtual reality, “augmented reality” and other audio-visual platforms to illustrate ways the United Nations is improving humanitarian response. Examples featured include blockchain, digital cash, biometrics, drones, satellite imagery and data surveys by mobile phone.
