Numbers behind decisions – [what gets measured gets done] – how can Big Data contribute to the follow-up on the 2030 Agenda?
(New York, USA) The follow-up on the ambitious goals of the 2030 Agenda still poses data challenges to various countries, which in consequence is limiting the availability of evidence for decision-making. Using Big Data to improve evidence is an important aspect that cannot be overseen. But wider application of Big Data does not only require new approaches from data producers but also goodwill from decision-makers and companies who own it.
This event will discuss how Big Data can contribute to the follow up on the 2030 Agenda and how it can be used to inform and enhance decision making. Discussants will engage in conversations around public-private sector collaborations and how to collaborate with companies to use big data for the greater, public good.
UN Global Pulse is happy to participate in the event and share its expertise and good practices.
This is a side event of the High Level Political Forum to take place at UNHQ from 6:30pm-8:00pm.
