From Privacy to Ethics: Misuse, Missed Use, and the Public Good
[Brussels, Belgium] UN Global Pulse and the European Data Protection Supervisor, in collaboration with IAPP, are hosting a meeting on the margins of the 40th session of the International Conference of Data Protection and Privacy Commissioners.
The event is entitled “From Privacy to Ethics: Misuse, Missed Use, and the Public Good” and will explore specific questions on how ethics and privacy can help fill the gaps not yet covered by data privacy norms in the context of global development and humanitarian action.
Particularly, the discussion will focus on the concepts of public good, legitimate interest and fair use, as it concerns data processing by and between public and private sector.
The event will gather commissioners, private sector data privacy and ethics experts as well representatives of international organizations for a frank conversation over lunch.
This is an invitation-only event.
