Global Data Access Initiative (GDAI)

The Global Data Access Initiative (GDAI) brings together partners across the public and private sector to unlock social impact at scale in service of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Combining proprietary, 3rd-party data (from satellite imagery to mobile data) with proven models and approaches, GDAI unlocks a rich tapestry of previously unavailable socioeconomic and geospatial insights to support the more effective targeting, delivery, and monitoring of humanitarian and development interventions. GDAI is led by the United Nations Global Pulse (UNGP) and supported by a coalition of partners including Google.org, Patrick J. McGovern Foundation, Jain Family Institute, McKinsey & Company, World Food Programme (WFP) and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

GDAI is actively seeking to engage with a range of potential collaborators across the ecosystem (incl. humanitarian/ development organizations, data providers and tech/ AI leaders) to refine GDAI’s initial solutions and shape GDAI’s longer-term roadmap.
