Indonesia’s Free Nutritious Meals Programme is a strategic initiative to combat malnutrition and stunting among children and other vulnerable groups. Initially targeting 3 million recipientsāincluding pregnant women, toddlers, and studentsāthe programme plans to expand its reach to 82.9 million beneficiaries nationwide by 2027.
To support this ambitious effort, UN Global Pulse is developing a cutting-edge Decision Support System (DSS) for the Ministry of National Development Planning (Bappenas) to optimize programme implementation planning. By integrating official and non-conventional data sources, the DSS enables precise targeting and ensures the equitable distribution of meals.Ā
Through advanced data analytics, the system supports evidence-based decision-making, efficient resource allocation and dynamic programme adaptation. In collaboration with government agencies and key stakeholders, UN Global Pulse aligns its efforts with national priorities, promoting sustainability and driving improved nutritional outcomes for Indonesiaās future generations.
Our impact
The Free Nutritious Meals Programme is designed to combat malnutrition, enhance educational outcomes and promote national well-being across Indonesia.
A key component of this initiative is the data-driven Decision Support System (DSS) which ensures precise targeting, efficient resource allocation, and effective programme implementation. The DSS also enhances the programme’s transparency and accountability, strengthening its impact and fostering trust among stakeholders.
