UN Global Pulse has launched “Scaling the Summit,” a new podcast developed in collaboration with the UN Innovation Network, focusing on scaling innovations in development and humanitarian work. The podcast taps into vital research on innovation and shares insights from a diverse range of practitioners. Its goal is to shed light on the journey from an idea to a fully-scaled project within the UN system.

In April 2023, UN Global Pulse and the UN Innovation Network formed a new group, uniting over 350 UN colleagues and stakeholders from various sectors to exchange experiences and ideas on scaling up solutions. Throughout the year, this group organized webinars, workshops and discussions to help deepen the understanding of what it takes to scale innovations in the UN system.

The “Scaling the Summit” podcast, the latest edition to these activities, features compelling interviews with experienced UN colleagues and external practitioners. Covering mentoring, monitoring and evaluation, funding, and more, each episode delves into key aspects of scaling innovations.

The introductory episode ’Welcome to Scaling the Summit’ is now available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube and Google Podcasts. The first full-length episode, airing on January 15th, features Kersten Jauer, Deputy Director of Strategic Planning and Monitoring from the UN Secretary-General’s Office, discussing the importance of scaling innovation for UN 2.0 and how it can help accelerate progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals.
